Good theory. Watching the dock/sub scene I had a stganre feeling that Widmore was somehow "helping" MIB to a point as long as it served Widmore's ends. I always assumed that Widmore wanted the island to exploit it, while Ben was the zealot who wanted to "protect" it. And MIB he apparently is Dorothy who just wants to go home. (Yet, I have a feeling that what he really wants to do is infect our homes )
